Posture And Exercises The Best Remedies For Pregnancy Back Pain
Most pregnant women suffer from pregnancy back pain especially during early pregnancy. Because of hormonal changes, change of the center of gravity of their body, or extra weight of the baby, pregnant women are therefore prone to backaches and pains.
The growth of the uterus causes the woman’s center of gravity to shift forward. This may lead to backaches due to the change in posture and movement style. A normal part of pregnancy are hormonal changes, in which the joints are loosened and ligaments between pelvic bones are softened. There are cases where urinary infection also causes back pain amongst pregnant women. If it’s accompanied by other symptoms, don’t ignore severe back pain during pregnancy because it may lead to other major problem.
Pregnant women need to exercise as this is the most important remedy to cure pregnancy back pain. Pelvic rock or walking are just a few good exercises which will help pregnant women relieve their back pains.
Another important role to keep one free of back pain is good body mechanics and having the right posture. Avoid slouching and practice having good posture because it’s an effective remedy for pregnancy pain. Using lumbar cushion or pillow can help you maintain appropriate posture and avoid slouching. Proper muscular exercises can also reduce it.
Pregnant women should avoid standing for long periods and also avoid frequently changing sitting positions to help reduce and avoid back pain. Other ways to avoid and eliminate early pregnancy back pain are adequate sleep and rest. Another requirement to avoid strain on the back is to wear low-heeled shoes with proper arch support. Also helpful in avoiding back pain is the use of a low stool for resting the feet while sitting or standing for long periods.
